The members of the Study Committee are the most study motivated peeps of the Guild - and we’re passionate about motivating and inspiring other members of the K-Guild! For example, we arrange study nights with various themes where food usually is offered, we arrange theme weeks and inspiring or educative lectures and workshops related to our education. We also set up book exchange tables a few times every year in order to help the Guild members to buy second-hand course literature and to both save money and spare the environment. On top of that we arrange special events for the international students and strive to make them feel more included!
In the Study Committee, only fantasy limits the type of study related events we create. All posts are involved in and learn how to plan events to the vastly appreciated study nights. In the Study Committee you’ll be part of a very cosy committee that plans events and cooks together!
Head of the Study Committee
Head of the Study Committee
As Head of the Study Committee, I’m responsible for the committee’s activities and economy, I make sure all the work is done and I account for the administration. I plan and lead the committee’s meetings and coordinate the Study Committee’s activities with the rest of the Guild through the Council where all Head of Committees meet. Apart from that, I have an overall responsibility and a thorough insight in the events that the committee is arranging, and I take care of a lot of the administrative things such as booking, sending posters to the print and making sure the events are within the budget.
As head of a committee, you’re expected to spend a lot of time on the post. For example, there are meetings with the Council or Board Meetings that you’re expected to attend every second week. In return, you learn a lot about leadership being accountable for a group, planning, communication and collaboration!
The World Masters are accountable for planning and setting up fun events for the K-Guild’s international students. We’re also part of the Group of the World Masters by the Student Union at LTH where we meet World Masters from other Guilds and together arrange events for all the international students of LTH. We also write the English version of Orbitalen, the Guild’s newsletter. When we don’t arrange events for international students, we help the rest of the committee to plan and arrange study nights and book exchange tables.
Event Creator of the Study Committee
As Event Creator of the Study Committee you learn to plan both small and big events. Above all else, you learn to plan food purchases and to cook for many people. As Event Creators, we find it very motivating to get on from the idea stage of an event to carry out the event together with the rest of the committee. That’s a great feeling!
As Event Creators of the Study Committee we’re accountable for planning and setting up study related events for the Guild’s members. It could be anything from inspirational lectures to a crash course in Excel or Matlab. The sky's the limit! When we don’t plan events we help the rest of the committee to plan and set up for example study nights or book exchange tables.
As Study Ions we help the rest of the committee to plan and set up events, study nights and book exchange tables. The post is very free, it’s widely up to you how much time and effort you’re willing to spend, how much responsibility you want to take and what ideas you wish to realize. If you want to work with international events you can join the World Masters, but if you’d rather learn how to plan food purchases you could give Event Creators a helping hand. Moreover, creative ideas for inspirational events or themes for the study nights are always appreciated!
